May 1, 2020 – The Abbotsford Police Foundation (APF) is celebrating its 15th anniversary.
Abbotsford is recognized nationally for its generosity, and the APF is grateful to the many Abbotsford citizens and businesses who generously donate to the Abbotsford Police Foundation each year to help fund AbbyPD initiatives.
Since 2005 the APF has raised almost $300,000 and received immeasurable value through in-kind in contributions. All funds raised help support AbbyPD community policing programs and the purchase of specialized equipment.
Abbotsford Police Foundation founding board member, Dave Kandal noted “I must say, it’s hard to believe it’s been 15 years since Jack Robertson, Spud Murphy and I founded the APF. I’m so proud to see that the vision and passion for community that we launched 15 years ago continues as a legacy of generosity today.”
To celebrate the 15th anniversary the APF is launching a THANKS to YOU! campaign showcasing and thanking donors and supporters. The campaign also includes ‘THANKS’ from recipients of APF grant funding, highlighting in their own words the positive impact of community generosity. Watch for ads on Pattison billboards, the APF website and social media and in print from May until the end of the year.
APF President Kevin Boonstra notes that “the Abbotsford Police Foundation has spent the past 15 years helping connect police with our community and funding engaging AbbyPD projects and programs. None of this would have been possible without your generosity. In these challenging times, we want to take a moment to express our gratitude to our community. Your continued support will help ensure crucial community policing initiatives – such as Youth Making Positive Choices; and the purchase of specialized equipment like the Training Simulator, Kevlar vests for the K9s, John Deere Gator, Drone, and Vintage Police Cruiser – continue.”
