Sandy Blue, Vice President

Sandy Blue has been an active ‘police volunteer’ since 1988, including 15 years with Burnaby RCMP Victim Services and the City of Burnaby Community Policing Committee of Council where she was recognized for more than 4,000 volunteer service hours. In 2002 she was appointed to the Abbotsford Police Board where she served for 6 years as a Provincial appointee. In 2005 she was invited by Abbotsford Police Foundation founding board member Jack Robertson to attend a meeting of the newly formed Charitable organization. There she met Spud Murphy and Dave Kandal – the other founding members of the board – and the rest as they say - is history.

She currently serves as Vice President of the Abbotsford Police Foundation where she also heads the Marketing, Events and Fundraising Committee of the Board.

Sandy is passionate about building strong, vibrant communities and believes that connecting police with community, creating positive relationships and funding engaging AbbyPD programs is an excellent way to help make a real difference for youth and families in our city.

Sandy’s 30+ year career included national and international roles with Financial Services and Telecom companies; and staff and elected positions with local governments.

Sandy has earned international accreditation as both an Economic Developer (IEDC – Washington DC); and Business Communicator (IABC – San Francisco, CA); and is an accredited Director (ICD.D – Toronto). She has served more than 35 years on community and not for profit boards where she leverages her unique blend of qualifications, expertise and accomplishments to bring a fresh perspective to the board table and help organizations grow and thrive.
